If the king of twee himself, esteemed Hollywood writer-director Wes Anderson, had created the Harbor Course at Wild Dunes on IOP, it would look less like a traditional course and more like a miniature golf course with painstakingly designed, hand-crafted features and nearly Rube Goldberg-esque holes. Despite all of that, IOP is still pretty grand.

Acme Lowcountry Kitchen

Enjoy traditional Southern food from breakfast to dinner, although maybe not all in the same day. After all, you won’t be able to fit into your twee-tight slacks if you do.

Stand Up Paddleboarding Ocean Fitness

Afraid to surf. Too timid to kiteboard. Perhaps you should consider paddleboarding. If you’re on IOP, the fine folks at Ocean Fitness can teach you how. Ocean Fitness also offers rentals and tours.

Sea Biscuit Cafe

If you get to IOP in the AM, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast at Sea Biscuit Cafe that will hold you over until dinner. Whether it’s blueberry walnut french toast that catches your interest or smoked salmon and avocado benedict, Sea Biscuit has got you covered.

The Windjammer

Good vibes and good times abound at this always-hopping beach joint. Come for volleyball, a round of Jenga, the live music, and a drink for a great afternoon. And don’t miss the Budweiser Bikini bash each Sunday.

Harbor Course at Wild Dunes

We have to admit that it may be a little too hot this time of the year to be out and about in the sun for four hours playing a round of golf, but Wild Dunes’ Harbor Course is so beautiful it’s difficult to pass up, especially if someone else is paying. Thanks, Dad.

Dog Friendly

IOP allows pups off leash year-round, but only during designated hours. And for the summer that means 5-9 a.m. Charlie may not surf, but Charlie the dog just might.
