Charleston Music Hall announced today the venue will host Hi Harmony, a free unity concert featuring six local supergroups and various genres, on Aug. 16 at 6 p.m.

The idea behind the concert is to keep the feeling of unity flowing in the Charleston community while gathering listeners for a special show that explores hip-hop, soul, indie, gospel, folk, R&B, jazz, spoken word, and more.

Each group is led by a different musical director, including the Jazz Artists of Charleston led by Charlton Singleton, Hearts & Plugs with Dan McCurry, Shrimp Records with Bill Carson, the Whole Shebang led by Lindsay Holler, the Very Hypnotic Soul Band led by McKenzie Eddy and Elliott A. Smith, and the Praise Charleston Combined Gospel Choir led by  Mrs. Shari Broomfield and Rev. Da’rrell Ravenell.

Between sets, local leaders will comment on the theme of community in Charleston. Speakers to include City Councilman Dudley Gregorie, JA Moore, KJ Kearney, and Mark Sloan.

Admission is free, but tickets are required. You can get yours here at charlestonmusichall.com
