Last Wednesday while prepping his Zombie Bob’s Pizza food truck for Saturday’s Be More Tea Festival, owner Ryan Dedrickson was electrocuted. We spoke to Karen Moran, owner of Sweet Lulu’s Bakery food truck and a friend of Dedrickson’s, who says that while he is currently talking and slowly walking, his prognosis on Wednesday was not so optimistic. Dedrickson’s family has started a gofundme for his hospital bills and Moran is working on organizing a food truck rodeo to raise money for Dedrickson.
The electrocution happened while Dedrickson was running a cord between a building and his truck. Generally, food trucks run off of generators, but they can also use electricity as a power source.
Moran was on her way to visit Dedrickson when we spoke to her. “I’m getting him a Superman costume,” she said, adding that it reflected his current “great spirit.”
For more information on joining the food truck rodeo call Roti Rolls at (843) 735-9664 or email eatrotirolls@gmail.com. Moran is also hosting a photo shoot and food truck brunch this Sunday, with 25 percent of proceeds going to Dedrickson. Bac’n me Crazy, another CHS food truck, is also doing what they can to help with a donation box set up while they serve food — check out their Facebook to see where they’ll be next.
