King Street jewelry stalwart Croghan’s Jewel Box will undergo renovations starting this weekend, Jan. 30, and will reopen on Mon. Feb. 8. The reno will include designated shopping areas organized by collections, i.e. the bridal counter and VIP seating area featuring a large collection of engagement rings and wedding bands. The south side of the shop, which was originally an enclosed porch, will now showcase the estate collection which includes fine jewelry and antique sterling silver.

The building that houses Croghan’s was built in 1794. Most recently, founder William Joseph Croghan’s great granddaughters, Mariana (a.k.a. Mini) and Kathleen Hay were featured in Southern Living in a list of “50 People Who Are Changing the South in 2015,” for their contemporary jewelry lines. Check out pieces that glorify the cockroach of the South, the Palmetto bug, in their Goldbug Collection.
