Do you like your theater with a side of gore?

If so, we’re pleased to tell you, What If? Productions, in partnership with Threshold Repertory Theatre, will be holding auditions for an upcoming performance of Evil Dead: The Musical on March 26. Directed by Kyle Barnette and based on the 1981 cult classic horror/comedy, Evil Dead tells the story of Ash and his pals, whose vacation to a cabin in the woods ends with buckets of blood and demonic possession.

Auditions will take place Sat. March 26 from noon to 2 p.m. with callbacks following immediately. The show is scheduled to run from Oct. 6-30. Those trying out will need to demonstrate their vocal chops as well as show off their comedic range. Also, it probably won’t hurt if you’re handy with a chain saw.

If a backwoods bloodbath isn’t your thing, What If? Productions will also be looking for fresh talent for their production of the Tony Award-winner Amadeus. Scheduled for March 28, auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. The show is set to run from Dec. 2-18.

Those hoping to audition for either production will need to reserve a spot in advance by contacting play@whatifproductions.org. A complete list of available roles can be found here.
