Local artist Chambers Austelle and her husband, musician and writer Matt Dobie, have partnered with Redux Contemporary Art Center to create Charleston Trading Eights, a jazz residency that creates an opportunity for local musicians to interact with artists-in-residence. Trading Eights holds its first showcase next Sun. May 22 from 8-11 p.m., with performances from AIR, Ron Wiltrout, Gerald Gregory, Jeremy Wolf, Dan Voss, and Tyler Ross. Tickets are $5 and beer and wine will be available for purchase.

The evening will feature a 45-minute set from the musician artists-in-residence, followed by an open sessions, where jazz musicians from the community will be welcomed on stage. Trading Eights will host monthly performances, along with a series of lectures that help the Charleston Community form a deeper understanding of the local jazz culture. Find out more here.
