[image-1]What’s in a name? More than you might think when it comes to a restaurant. When it opened in 2013, the adjoining dining area at Zero George Hotel went by the name Zero Cafe + Bar, and it fit. The simple space felt more like a Scandinavian breakfast spot than a place to luxuriate over candlelit dinners. That’s clearly not the case anymore. When Vinson Petrillo stepped into the executive chef role he brought with him an elevated cuisine and the restaurant’s name has finally caught up with his menu.

As former restaurant critic Allston McCrady wrote in her review of the restaurant last year, “Zero George offers a unique fine-dining experience that falls somewhere between the intimacy of Chez Nous and the gastronomical wizardry of McCrady’s.” Clearly this is no little cafe selling snacks. 

If you’d like to get a taste of Petrillo’s wizardry, Zero is now offering a three-course dinner experience for $55, in addition to his impressive five-course tasting menu for $115. Both are available nightly. Zero Restaurant is open Tues.-Sun., 5 to 10 p.m, with happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m.
