M. Dumas & Sons, downtown Charleston’s long-time specialty menswear retailer, is in new hands. Gary Flynn, former Senior Director at Samsung Retail Design and Merchandising, has been appointed as the new President and CEO of the company. Flynn, who takes over on August 1, has been in menswear for years, boasting a 27-year tenure with Nordstrom and the title of Senior Vice President of Product Merchandising of Hugo Boss, Americas.
Initially a uniform shop for service jobs started by Mendel Dumas in 1917, M. Dumas & Sons has been providing high quality men’s clothing to the residents of the Lowcountry for the past 99 years. What started as a store for hunting and outdoor apparel became a shop best known for fashionable men’s clothing. Next year M. Dumas & Sons celebrates 100 years in the retail business.
