More Shovels & Rope news to cheer you up during this last week of summer: Entertainment Weekly just released a brand new ShoRo song, “Botched Execution,” and indeed a video to boot, from their upcoming LP Little Seeds.

The record takes its title from an excerpt of “Botched Execution,” which gets a signature ShoRo murder motif. Shovels & Rope have been teasing the track for a few days now on Facebook, calling the video today a “gorgeous and twisted piece of musical filmmaking.”

The comic book-style video was written, directed, produced, shot, and edited by Curtis Wayne Millard, a Mexican, New York City-based photographer and director whose dark, inventive style has also been called on by the likes of Phosphorescent, Dawes, Drivin’ N Cryin’, and Billy Joe Shaver.

Little Seeds is out Fri. Oct. 7. Look for our review in the Wed. Oct. 5 issue.
