March 14-18 marks the 11th annual Charleston Fashion Week, and with it comes the Rock the Runway modeling competition. This highly competitive event includes a selection of 10 male and 10 female up-and-coming models who will walk the runway to be judged by a panel on Fri. March 17.
The contest allows models that are starting out to gain industry and media exposure, and give them an opportunity to be signed by international and national modeling scouts. One male and one female will be crowned the Grand Prize Winners, with the inclusion of a $1,000 cash prize, along with mentoring opportunities.
Five of the 20 contestants are from Charleston: Harrison Fister, Reece Williams, Alexandria Jones, Caroline Harris and Kylie Klein. Jury members include founder of Karen Lee Group and international model scout, Karen Lee Grybowski; director of scouting and model movement for Elite Model Management NYC, Michaela Goddard-Quesada; founder and president of DirectionsUSA Model Management, Jill Joyce; Scout at Wilhelmina International Inc., Lynsee Gonzales; and director of New Faces at Factor|Chosen Model Management, Marion Webb.
