On April 19 at 6 p.m., Leah Suarez & Friends bring jazz and blues to the Gibbes for an evening performance celebrating the work of late African-American painter, storyteller, and interpreter Jacob Lawrence. The Gibbes has had a History, Labor, Life: The Prints of Jacob Lawrence on display since the beginning of the year, and the exhibit will run through April 30.

Vocalist Leah Suarez, with Richard White Jr. on keys and Reggie Sullivan on bass, perform standards inspired by the work of Lawrence. A glass of complimentary wine is offered to each attendee, and tickets are $20 member, $30 non-member, and $10 student or faculty. You can purchase tickets here.
