Break out your sweatbands, the 2017 PowerShares Series tour, a competitive tennis circuit featuring legendary icons and world-renowned champions, will make a stop in Charleston at the Volvo Car Stadium on Saturday, April 1st at 7:00pm.

A Legendary Field

The event features four champions playing two semifinals, with the winners meeting in a championship match. Joining us in Charleston are;

  • John McEnroe, Former World No. 1 & 7-time Grand Slam winner
  • Andy Roddick, Former World No. 1 & US Open winner
  • James Blake, Former World No. 4 & Davis Cup winner
  • Mark Philippoussis, Former World No. 8 & 2-time Davis Cup champion
  • Defending His Title

    Andy Roddick, who returns to Charleston as last yearโ€™s champion is ready to defend his PowerShares Series Charleston title. Joining him for the second year in a row is James Blake.

    โ€œI had a great time in Charleston last year,โ€ said Blake, who won 10 career singles titles. โ€œThe crowd was great and the fans were having a lot of fun. That made it a great experience for the players.โ€œ

    Legends, Mark Philippoussis and John McEnroe will come to Daniel Island with PowerShares for the first time. Blake added, โ€œMcEnroe is so unique. He has a different style of play than anyone else on tour. Itโ€™s fun to play against someone who is different and has such an amazing skill set.โ€

    Fast-Fire Format

    During the fast-fire format, the players are micโ€™d and call their own scores. This lends itself to an entertaining tennis experience that even novice fans will enjoy. โ€œWe put on a great show for a set or two,โ€ Blake said. โ€œThe fans also get to see more of our personalities. On tour, we were laser focused and not engaged with the fans as much. Itโ€™s fun to be able to engage more with the fans in these condensed events.โ€

    While on stadium grounds, enjoy happy hour, live music, dining and shopping. You wonโ€™t want to miss this legendary event! Tickets are still available. Terrace seating only $30. Buy now.
