[image-1][image-2]Laura and Matt Cannon and Julie Buelk’s much loved Orange Spot Coffeehouse is getting new digs in Park Circle. Thanks to a new development going in up the street, the coffee shop will move to 1011 E. Montague, according to the Post & Courier.

Buelk and Cannon (City Paper’s former advertising coordinator) opened the shop in their 675 square foot space at 4824 Chateau Ave. in 2013. Buelk wanted to create a place like the coffee shops she’d enjoyed abroad as a member of the Peace Corps.

As we reported in 2013, “She found herself going back to the same Thai coffeehouse, which made her feel safe, secure, and welcome. This spot also featured a special orange drink, the Cha Yen, which inspired a catchy nickname and Buelk would think: ‘Today I’m going to my orange spot.'” When she returned back to the states with a coffeehouse dream in hand, she knew her priorities: ‘I need to provide my customers with [their own] orange spot.'”

Now even more customers will be able to take comfort in the Orange Spot’s new 1,280 square food space. The Orange Spot will move into Marquis Station, a four-building complex at East Montague and Virginia avenues sometime this summer.  [image-3]
