[image-1]As the school year winds down and testing mayhem kicks in, teachers need a little extra fuel. Kickin’ Chicken, beloved local franchise, understands this. Between May 1 and June 5 of this year they served more than 1,000 meals to teachers from 11 area schools via their bright yellow “Chicken Coupe.”

[image-3]Since the Kickin’ teacher appreciation initiative began in 2012, the poultry slingin restaurant has served more than 3,000 teachers from 40 schools, donating a whopping 21,000 chicken nuggets. Co-owner of Kickin’ Chicken Bobby Perry says that, “One of the best things we can do as a company is show our appreciation to those who sacrifice so much to our children.”

In addition to this month-long initiative, the restaurant works year-round with seven area schools by hosting spirit nights, donating the food truck, and providing free nuggets to students on the honor roll. In July, the restaurant will kick-off a Teacher’s Supply Closet fundraiser at all five locations in advance of the 2017-18 school year.

For the rest of us not in the education profession, we’ll have to make do with Kickin’ Chicken’s new location at 349 W. Coleman Blvd. With a huge indoor/outdoor bar, plasma TVs, and a game room for the kids, it’s the perfect pit-stop to or from the beach.
