It’s been quite a week for Sean Brock. On Monday he revealed to the New York Times his battle with addiction and subsequent rehab (more on that soon), and today his team has announced even more changes to his restaurant empire — Charleston’s own McCrady’s is getting a new seating format and prices.
Rather than using a ticketed system for the two-hour tasting menu experience, the restaurant has shifted to traditional reservations with six seatings a night (6, 6:15, 6:30, 8:30, 8:45, 9 p.m.). Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance. For example, on June 15th you may book through September 15th. According to a press release, “There is a 72-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy. A guest may reschedule within that 72 hour window however if they cancel or no-show, they will be charged $115 per guest.”
That’s right, the changes have also spilled over to menu prices. Now the multi-course tasting menu is $115 — before it was $125 per diner — Osetra Caviar supplement is $35; the additional beverage pairing is $75; reserve beverage pairing is $160; and the non-alcoholic pairing is $45.
