[embed-1]I’m not much for desserts. I turn my nose up at ice cream, won’t look at pie, and only had a fleeting romance with cookies during my son’s nine month gestation — cravings are real, y’all. But there’s one sweet item I can’t seem to say no to and that’s churros.
I contest that the cinnamon-dusted warm, crispy fried dough sticks are like edible fairy wands. There’s magic in that dough, I swear. Add the Mexican chocolate sauce and sweet Jesus, where’d I put my church fan?
So it’s with some sadness that I share the news that Minero is nixing churros from its menu. An instagram post from Sean Brock’s Mexican restaurant reports that Minero is canning the pastry tomorrow:
“Come on by and help us say goodbye to the Churros as we make room for some fun new menu items. Available through Thursday #churros #chseats #eaterchs #dessert.”
Now that’s not to say other restaurants don’t sell churros. They do. The Grocery has a killer churros dessert and Basico sells them too, but we’ll miss Minero’s.
