This Friday, local artist Estee, a.k.a. Estee Gabay will drop a brand new single off her upcoming, as-of-yet untitled LP, which is slated for a January release.
The track, entitled “Blind,” has been two years in the making and was produced and mixed by Wolfgang Zimmerman at the Space before his studio move to Rialto Row. “It was the first song we recorded and still has resonance with both of us more than two years later,” Gabay says. “It kick-started the album and started us off with some really positive energy.”
Mastered by Vlado Meller and Jeremy Lubsey at Vlado Meller Mastering, the song features guitar parts by Bo Farish and bass and guitar by SUSTO’s Corey Campbell.
As for the album, Gabay says it’s a biographical. She says, “A lot of this album is about my own ongoing push-pull relationship with making sense of my place in the universe and developing my spirituality and emotional health.”
Toucan Films’ Drew Gardner recorded a video for the single earlier this week during the total solar eclipse, and Gabay plans to release it in a few weeks.
In the meantime, check out “Blind” beginning Fri. Aug. 25 at soundcloud.com/estee_music.
