Seal Kids SEALJam, originally scheduled for this Saturday, has been postponed. The new date is TBD.

Mike Birbiglia at The Gaillard, scheduled for this Friday, has been postponed. The new date has yet to be announced, but current ticket holders’ tickets will be honored for the new date. Until then, read our interview with Birbiglia.

Poetry at McLeod, scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, has been postponed.

The Charleston Firefighter calendar debut party set for this Saturday has been postponed until September 30. All current tickets will be honored for the new date.

This Saturday’s community clean up on James Island has also been postponed.

This Sunday’s Sounds of September at Towne Centre has been canceled. The next event is scheduled for Sun. Sept. 17.

The 9/11 Heroes Run scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed.

Events at Middleton Place have been canceled through this weekend and next week. This includes Sunday’s Harvest Moon dinner and next Thursday’s backyard barbecue.

Arts Matter Day, a day of giving scheduled for Tues. Sept. 12 has been rescheduled. A new date has TBD.

What If? Productions’ piano bar series, Sondheim Nights, has been postponed until next January 12-20. Tickets will be honored for those new dates.

The Children’s Museum will be closed starting Fri. Sept. 8 and all events held there will be canceled.

Second Sunday on King Street has been canceled.

Congaree National Park is closing on Saturday and all park programs have been canceled. Updates can be found at nps.gov/cong.

Friday and Saturday’s poetry event at the Charleston Library society has been canceled.

Art classes at Redux that were scheduled tonight, Thurs. Sept. 7-Monday Sept. 11 are postponed.

Kiawah’s The Wells Gallery is closing tomorrow Sept. 8 and will reopen on Sept. 16.

Tomorrow and Friday night’s Jam on the Water concert cruises have been postponed.

Charleston County Libraries will be closed starting on Friday-Tues. Sept. 12.

Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum closes Friday and will reopen at a time TBD.

All Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission parks and facilities will be closed starting Saturday. Shaggin’ on the Cooper and dog dark afternoons have been canceled this weekend. Parks will be reopened when Hurricane Irma passes.

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens closes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and will reopen when Irma passes.

The Halsey Institute will close tomorrow, Fri. Sept. 8, and hopes to reopen on Thurs. Sept. 14.

Dance Lab ( which follows CCSD closings) has closed Fri. Sept. 8 through Tues. Sept. 12.

The North Charleston POPS! Bravo Broadway concert scheduled for Sat. Sept. 9 has been postponed. New TBD.

CYDC’s A Night for the Children Gala has been postponed. The new date for the event is Oct. 12.

Holy City Brewing and Charleston Outdoor Adventures have canceled tomorrow night’s CHSBeer Week sunset paddle and Lowcountry boil. Refunds will be processed today. Stay tuned for anymore Beer Week cancellations.

This weekend’s Repticon, to be held at the Omar Shrine Temple, has been canceled.

The South Carolina Aquarium is closing today, Fri. Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. and remaining closed until the impact of Irma has passed.

The Pour House has cancelled this Sunday’s farmers market and rescheduled Saturday’s Whiddon family fundraiser for Sept. 30. Pouchon, a whole hog style throwdown and  another PoHo event scheduled for Sunday has also been postponed. New date TBD.

Auditions for Dracula and the Nutracker have been canceled.

The OPEN Arts Expo, scheduled for Sunday in the Cistern Yard, has been canceled.


The Flowertown Players have canceled all builds, rehearsals, and scheduled meetings through Sept. 13. The play The Laramie Project, originally scheduled for next weekend, has been pushed back until the weekend of Sept. 21.

The Lowcountry Local First September Member Mixer, scheduled to be held next Wednesday, has been canceled.

The CSO’s opening performances, originally scheduled for Sept. 15-16, has been rescheduled for Jan. 5 and 6. Tickets will be honored for those new dates.

Ideas Into Action’s Tuesday and Wednesday discussions with Turning Leaf graduates has been postponed until Wed. Sept. 20 and Thurs. Sept. 21.

PURE Theatre has delayed the opening of their season’s first performance, If I Forget, until Wed. Sept. 20, their Pay What You Will performance.

Old Towne County Park’s Wine Down Wednesday, to be held tomorrow at 5 p.m., has been canceled. The next WDW will take place on Wed. Sept. 27.

Footlight Players’ An Act of God has been postponed and will debut on Fri. Sept. 22.

The walk to end Alzheimer’s, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been moved to Sat. Sept. 23.

Adult Swim’s on the Green Tour, scheduled for tomorrow night at Riverfront Park, has been canceled.
