[image-1]Charleston’s tomatoband and Folly Beach hangout Chico Feo have joined forces to help raise money for victims of both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Beginning at 8 p.m. on Sat. Sept. 16, tomatoband will perform and the bar’s regular menu will be available. In addition to raising money the band wants to raise awareness of climate change.
[content-1]”Here in Charleston we are no strangers to hurricanes and tropical force storms,” says guitarist Charlie Mitchell. “We all know the damage that a storm like Irma can bring, and we are reminded over and over of mother nature’s supreme power. So, in the wake of the havoc caused in the southeast so far this hurricane season, it is now more important than ever to support our neighbors, but also to take an honest look at our impact on the planet that gives us life. So we hope this show helps Folly Beach ‘band’ together, so to speak, but we also hope that the ripples of what we are doing here spread further. … take care of each other, take care of our planet.”
Funds raised will to Mercy Corps, which has an A rating by CharityWatch. There’s no cover but a minimum of $5 donation is suggested.
