Who says you can’t find art everywhere you turn? You can find a pretty incredible mural from local Latino artist Maribel Acosta if you happen to swing by Hanahan’s Fire Department station No. 1 (5826 Campbell St.) The mural was revealed this past weekend as part of the Fire Dept.’s open house and in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Fire Chief Bo Bowers visited Art Pot’s location last year and decided to donate paint as part of its renovation. In return, Acosta donated this fire station mural as a symbol of the organizations’ community collaboration. Acosta will be honored by the city of Hanahan on Tues. Nov. 14. Learn more about Acosta and her art online, and check out events at Art Pot by visiting artpot.org.
