52 days. That’s how long you have to prepare for everyone’s favorite holiday — Christmas, of course. There are plenty of events poppin’ off around town before then, though, and this year Charleston County Parks presents a new way to celebrate the holiday season.

On Sat. Dec. 9 from 5-9 p.m. Mt. Pleasant Pier hosts the inaugural Shuckin’ on the Cooper, a family-friendly event that offers views of the City of Charleston’s holiday parade of boats. Tickets are $8 in advance and can be purchased online.

As the name suggests, guests can shuck oysters at this event ($10/bucket) and additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Limited spaces are sold for Shuckin’ on the Cooper (who doesn’t want a front row seat to the boat parade?) so snag yours sooner rather than later.
