Only one Charleston City Council incumbent was spared by the time Tuesday’s runoff results were announced, and that lucky guy is William Dudley Gregorie.

Gregorie, who was first elected in February 2009, will serve a third term representing District 6 after capturing 32 more votes against challenger Amy Brennan, according to the initial Charleston County reports.

District 6 represents parts of the peninsula and James Island.

In District 10, 22-year-old Citadel graduate Harry J. Griffin beat Summer Massey by 99 votes for the West Ashley seat.

Voter turnout hovered a little over nine percent in the runoff, which was scheduled after candidates failed to clear the 50-percent-plus-one hurdle on Nov. 7.
