Local hip-hop emcee ILLADELL has been busy working on projects from other artists this year, from his chopped-and-sauced tracks to feature work. But now he’s off hiatus with the release of the single “Take Care.”

Produced by Tkdwn out of Canada, “Take Care” is a personal song that recaps the kind of year ILLADELL has had — “dealing with the good, the bad and the ugly of what life throws at me.,” he says. “Some things I brought upon myself, some things out of my control. This song is me venting, telling myself to keep going no matter how hard life may get; everything always get better with time and preparation. Things we take for granted are the things we need the most, so I just put it in a song and just let people feel what I have to say.”

The single’s cover art is by Concept Rxch.

You can check out “Take Care” on Spotify and iTunes or see ILLADELL perform this weekend at the Big Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at the Purple Buffalo on Fri. Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. The event’s proceeds will benefit the family of CofC grad Reina Gascon-Lopez, whose father and more were devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria.
