[image-2]We love Chambers Austelle’s art (and not just because her husband Matt Dobie writes for us) — her images of the female form are stunning. On Mon. Oct. 4 her online shop launches at 10 a.m. where you can peruse acrylic, chalk pastel, and wax pastel works on paper as well as hand-pulled, screen printed unisex T-shirts. Austelle is also selling two limited edition prints that are signed and printed — for just $100 each.
We wrote about Austelle’s exhibit, Birdcage, at Beresford Studios this past February. She told City Paper, “I’m interested in how women are treated in our society. It’s always something, even from when I was a child, that I questioned. Because we live in the South people would say, ‘Oh that’s just how it’s done.’ And I’d say, ‘Oh I don’t think so!'”
