This warm weather isn’t exactly hitting the spot in the holiday spirit department, right? For a lil Christmas crack to the veins, stat, get over to one of these festive musical events this weekend, and then immediately proceed to have yourself a merry little Christmas.

1. The V-Tones will perform a merrier-than-normal set on Sunday at 3 p.m. at their 13th Annual Holiday Extravaganza Charleston County Public Library (68 Calhoun St.). The jazz-swing-uke-good-time band’s set will also be broadcast live on WYLA 97.5 FM, which is headquartered at the library. Admission, and Christmas cheer, is free. 

2. Charleston’s premiere Christmas band The Silver Bells will perform for the first time in two years on Sat. Dec. 8 at Jack of Cups (34 Center St.) on Folly Beach immediately following the Folly Christmas parade. It’s also the first weekend of Jack of Cups’ brand new winter menu, so bring an appetite for the best food on the planet.

3. Experience the holier side of Christmas this weekend at a smattering of church specials, including Candlelight Christmas Mass at the Circular Congregational Church (150 Meeting St.) on Sun. Dec. 10 with the Taylor Festival Choir rendition of “Missa Puer Natus Est” by Elizabethean composer Thomas Tallis. It’s free to attend and starts at 8:30 p.m.

4. The Taylor Music Group is also putting on a Community Christmas Singalong this Fri. Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at St. Philips Church (142 Church St.) Folks are encouraged to bring their own Messiah score and a request list of other classics to the fourth annual show.

5. The Charleston Symphony Orchestra performs Handel’s Messiah, or Holy City Messiah, this season beginning on Thurs. Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Cathedral of St John the Baptist (120 Broad St.), and again at St Andrews Church (440 Whilden St.) in Mt Pleasant on Sat. Dec. 9. at 7:30 p.m. The Symphony rounds out the weekend on Sun. Dec. 10 at Summerville’s St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church (11001 Dorchester Road) at 4 p.m. Price is $20 for adults and $10 for students.

6. Brad and Jennifer Moranz’s annual Charleston Christmas Show is back, kicking off on Fri. Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. with a night of all-new musical performances and comedy sketches with a holiday twist. The Special runs at the Charleston Music Hall until Sat. Dec. 23. 

7. Break out the PJs and party in comfort this Thursday eve at the Windjammer with their Santa’s Naughty or Nice PaJammer Party. DJ Spenser Hooks will pump up the holiday jams and the ‘Jammer will have holiday drink and shot specials all eve so shindig stays extra lit. Music kicks off at 9 p.m. and admission is free AF.
