A North Charleston man was found dead Friday night on Dorchester Road after he was hit by a vehicle that drove off, and now his family is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Authorities responded shortly after 10 p.m. when a second motorist struck Michael McGeady, a 34-year-old employee at Hyman’s Seafood, as he was lying on the road. The driver of the second vehicle stopped until authorities arrived.

“The victim was pronounced deceased on scene,” according to NCPD spokesman Spencer Pryor. There is currently no information on the suspect vehicle that fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.”

“You have hurt a great deal of people, and please find it within your conscience to contact the North Charleston Police Department,” said Patrick McGeady, Michael’s brother.

According to Pryor, there is currently no information on the suspect vehicle that fled the scene.
