[embed-2] The ninth annual Charleston Mac Off, the head-to-head mac-and-cheese competition where local restaurants and vendors whip up samples of the carb-y good stuff for the world to enjoy, is happening Sat. Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium — free parking, y’all.
General admission tickets are $17.50, but bring cash to purchase mac and cheese samples. Beer, wine, and cocktails are also available for purchase ($5-$7), with water, soda, and other food options ranging in price from $2-$7. VIP tickets area available for $125 and include VIP parking, an open bar, private bathrooms, catered food, an access pass to mac and cheese vendors, a beer garden, and a bourbon and cigar bar.
This year’s competitors include Crave, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Top Shelf Catering, Sticky Fingers, and Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House. Check their site to see who else will be added in the coming days. There will also be an artisan market, Berlins kitchen demo, and kid’s zone.
