Think you know how to spell words? You may want to think again at Tin Roof’s special booze-infused Drunk Spelling Bee Championship. Here’s the skinny: After each round contestants must take a Jell-O shot or mixed shot of the bartender’s choosing. Each round gets progressively harder as contestants get, well, more buzzed. It only costs $10 to enter and the first round kicks off at 9 p.m., with sign ups at 8 p.m.

The words you have to spell start at the third grade level and move up from there. Each contestant has one chance to buy back into a round after he/she has been eliminated. That buy back must come in the form of a straight or mixed shot (no easy peasy Jell-O shots allowed — and no CharDee MacDennis cheating, either.)

In addition to word-spelling, attendees can enjoy emcee and local comedian Shawna Jarrett who will totally not make fun of competitors. Bring out your support crew and practice your spellin’ skills — you’ve got T-minus 11 days to get smart.
