This Fri. Nov. 16 from 7-9 p.m. students at Charis Academy — a multi-sensory academic environment that focuses on meeting the educational needs of children with learning challenges — partners with Art Pot and AccessAbility for a live rendition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The show, Charlie at Charis, is the culmination of a year-long production; this pilot project utilizes dramatic arts programming to help kids.

The play takes place at Art Pot Multicultural Center (5909 Loftis Road, Hanahan), is free of charge, and open to all ages. Art Pot is the state’s first Hispanic multicultural center, integrating culture and education through the arts.

AccessAbility, located in North Charleston, is a nonprofit that exists “to promote the full integration of people with disabilities in their communities and operates on a cross-disability basis.”
