This weekend, Feb. 1-Feb. 3, the Gibbes Museum of Art presents an Art to Go mini exhibition featuring works from local students. Art to Go is an outreach program that pairs teaching artists with classroom teachers to create works of art inspired by current exhibitions at the Gibbes.
Students from Mitchell Elementary, Hunley Park Elementary, Angel Oak Elementary, and Northwoods Middle participated this year; you can find their work on display at the mini exhibition. Students created work inspired by both art in the museum’s permanent collection as well as by current exhibitions, A Dark Place of Dreams and Anna Heyward Taylor: Intrepid Explorer.
