Governor McMaster is rejoining the National Governors Association has hired staff to reopen the S.C. office in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the office is to help state agencies make deals with federal agencies. It was closed in 2010 during the recession. Source: AP

A delegation of state representatives voted in commercial real estate broker Chris Fraser to the Charleston County School Board. Fraser was voted in on a partisan vote and will represent West Ashley on the school board until the end of the 2020 term. Source: P&C
The S.C. Ports Authority wants to use barges to reduce the traffic on 526, utilizing what they called “the marine highway” rather than the interstate. Their target is to take 200,000 trucks off the road. Source: Live 5
