Today, Tues. April 16, the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs releases this year’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival poster featuring art from local painter Michelle Seay. The poster is just a tease — the festival’s full schedule is expected to be released next week.

Until then, go ahead and check out some of Seay’s past work which is always brimming with the kind of daily life you find in our vibrant city. Seay creates new art six days a week, so to say she’s prolific is an understatement.

With pieces that more often than not feature classic Charleston buildings, expressive faces, and, of course, sharks, Seay’s playful work seems fitting for a city-wide arts festival.
