The South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA) recognizes the 18th annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) with the extension of a digital marketing campaign, REALationships101. The Charleston chapters of My Sister’s House, Inc. and People Against Rape participate in the digital launch on Tues. April 23.

The REALationships101 campaign started last fall and on April 23 additional graphics, videos, and campaign materials will be released, including a new ‘quiz’ feature.

REALationships101 seeks to speak directly and honestly with kids through social media and other online platforms. The campaign presents simulated text conversations between two hypothetical teens in an effort to educate young adults about healthy relationships. Topics include consent, respect, trust, and the value of personal space.

The goal of SAAM is to increase awareness about sexual violence. This year’s theme is “I Ask,” enforcing the importance of recognizing consent, asking for permission, and respecting boundaries.

SCCADVVASA advocates for transformative social change that will result in a society free of violence and push for policy changes that support survivors. Learn more online.
