Awendaw Green has really been spreading its wings lately, recently partnering with Workshop to host Tuesday night live music sessions in Workshop’s courtyard. Now, Awendaw Green (both a place and local music organization) partners with Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre for a month of live music under the oaks.
Perhaps an unlikely spot for an outdoor concert series, Towne Centre’s Live Under the Oaks does in fact take place under oak trees, located across from Barnes & Noble. Think of it as some green space in the midst of parking lots and chain stores. Refreshing, really.
The series kicks off this Thurs. May 2 at 6 p.m. and continues every Thursday through the rest of the month. During the concert you can snag drinks and snacks from Burtons Grill. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to set up under the oaks and enjoy the performances.
The lineup for this month is:
May 2: Forty Mile Detour
May 9: Logan and the Kidders
May 16: HONNA
May 23: James Leprettre
May 30: Wando High School Philharmonic
