[image-1] Modern abstract artist Linwood debuts 15 of his original works of art this Fri. May 10 from 5-8 p.m. at Mitchell Hill Gallery. Peruse the pieces during an open-to-the-public cocktail party, where Linwood will be on hand to discuss his work. Guests are invited to find Linwood’s signature bateau (boat) in each piece.
In a statement on these works, Atlanta-based Linwood says, “Abstract art challenges each viewer to find meaning. But that said, I will comment that joy is an omnipresent theme in my work.”
And what about those boats you’ll find in each piece of work? Well, Linwood says that the symbol of a boat has come to represent, for him, the “transcendency and buoyancy of the human spirit.”
Mitchell Hill co-owner, Michael Mitchell, says, “Linwood’s paintings resonate in our growing artistic community. Collectors both locally, and from out of state, are drawn to Linwood’s use of color, including unusual pairings, as well as his artful balance between bold and delicate brush strokes.”
