COVID-19 update: Another 93 COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths were reported today by South Carolina health officials. This brings the total cases to 6,841 statewide and 463 in Charleston County.
Another trial: Citizens should be on the lookout for jury duty scammers, who are “again making their rounds,” according the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. In the past, offenders have called potential victims claiming to be law enforcement officers collecting fines for missed jury duty. Some incidents in Charleston County have seen offenders sending fake court documents to individuals via email to validate their “missed jury duty” phone calls. The latest attempt at the scam did not result in anyone losing money, but nonetheless, be on the lookout.
