Three months of Record Store Day

Vinyl fans have plenty of options for Record Store Day, celebrated one Saturday of each of the next three months starting Aug. 29.

Locally, Monster Music & Movies, Record Stop and Soundwave in Summerville, will all be active to celebrate the day of special releases.

Because of COVID-19, Monster Music will implement new guidelines to guarantee a safe environment. The store will allow customers to come in for 15 minutes to shop. The RSD titles will be arranged for quick browsing and minimal contact with others.

Soundwave is asking all customers to wear a face covering. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the store.

RSD remains a popular day to celebrate local record stores and vinyl, with a flurry of special releases from artists big and small.

This year, with the pandemic hitting local retail businesses hard, Record Store Day will be celebrated on three different days: Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24.
