Skinful Halloween will return Oct. 24 in a slightly different costume after its raucous rebirth in 2019. Charleston Woodlands will still host the outdoor art and music festival, but COVID-19 safety protocols will be implemented. The venue will open at 12 p.m. and music will start at 4 p.m.

Artists performing this year will Chali2na of alt. hip-hop group Jurassic 5, DJ Qbert and Charleston’s own Dubplates, Guilt Ridden Troubadour and Rebirth Brass Band.

Per COVID-19 regulations, masks will be mandatory and individuals who have been exposed to coronavirus 14 days prior to the event are recommended to stay home. 20-by-20 foot camp sites will be provided for groups of eight or fewer, and 10 feet will be place between each campsite.

Guests are encouraged to bring outside food, drinks, chairs, tents and insect repellant.

Instead of purchasing tickets, folks can gain access to Skinful 2020 by joining the Skinful Society for $100.

“The Skinful Society is for good-hearted people who don’t hate, that never discriminate, and love to let their freak flag fly,” festival organizers say.

Memberships can be purchased at citypapertickets.com (disclosure: a City Paper joint). Members will receive an invitation to Skinful 2020 upon joining.
