North Charleston’s Cultural Arts Department will showcase artwork by members of the Pastel Society of South Carolina from Nov. 3-25. The Park Circle Gallery will hold the city’s annual art showcase with free admission to the general public. This year’s showcase, Pastel Passion, will display 30 dry pastel works including Mary Brigman’s Blazing Sunset to Dance of Light by Rita Ginsberg.
The Pastel Society of South Carolina is a nonprofit organization that works to promote public awareness of pastels as a fine art medium. Their organization offers education programs for all of its members and outside artists. Pastel Passion at the Park Circle Gallery offers an opportunity for pastel artists to be recognized for their work.
The Park Circle Gallery is open at 4820 Jenkins Ave. Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 12-4 p.m. Gallery capacity is currently limited to 10 people at a time due to the pandemic.
