The Gaillard Center released an eight-episode video series Jan. 6 about the art of stagecraft titled “Setting the Stage.” The full series is free and comes with lesson plans for students.
Episodes guide viewers through the ins-and-outs of working behind the scenes. Lights, projectors, microphones, speakers and more are discussed throughout the list of episodes.
“The videos highlight STEM-based professionals that use science skills daily to execute performances,” said Sterling deVries, the director of education at the Gaillard. “The eight videos dive into the technical aspects of a theater and cover the SC State Academic Science and Theater Standards.”
