Little Bird’s latest music video for their single, “Mega Hot Super Babe,” is not for the faint of heart. Or, at least it’s not for people that can’t handle low-budget gore.
The video, which takes influence from ’70s exploitation cinema like I Spit on Your Grave, features one disembowelment, one head smashing, one tongue slashed out, one throat slit and one heart torn from a chest. Sonically, it’s a pretty pleasant R&B jam, though. The track is approachable and calm. The video is fan-made Mortal Kombat fatalities.
To be fair, the video has a little more depth that the gore lets on. The woman the video follows doesn’t kill anyone until she’s subjected to handsy men everywhere she goes, after all. “While the song itself is about the archetype of the untouchable woman, the video is meant to highlight a struggle that some women we know have dealt with, by fantasizing an ideological solution,” frontman Jay Hurtt said in a press release.
