Crust Wood Fired Pizza will add a third location downtown at 45 Romney St., owner Steve Watkins announced in a Tuesday press release. The forthcoming 3,000-square-foot eatery will feature two Mugnaini wood-fired ovens, an open kitchen and will also house an oyster bar named Baileys, according to the release.

“I always wanted a downtown location, and this is a great expansion of the Crust Wood Fired Pizza brand,” said Watkins, who first opened Crust on James Island in 2013, in the release. “I’m excited for the opening and being situated off Romney. We look forward to being a must stop neighborhood place.”

The Crust side of the operation will serve the same wood fired pizzas, pastas and sandwiches patrons can find at the James Island and Summerville locations. Baileys, which is named after an island in Maine, will “feature oysters, lobster rolls and additional seafood items,” and “the wood fired ovens will be utilized for multiple oyster dishes, including chargrilled oysters and Oysters Rockefeller,” according to the release.

Crust Wood Fired Pizza is anticipating a late summer 2021 opening for the new downtown location.
