Best Johns Island Bar
Tattooed Moose

If you haven’t been to Tattooed Moose Johns Island to see its new sprawling outdoor setup, put this local favorite — which also has a downtown location — on your list of things to do as the weather warms in Charleston. There’s a seemingly endless craft beer list, live music and elevated pub fare like the fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese or Mike’s Famous Duck Club, which was featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

“We are extremely humbled to be voted Best Bar on Johns Island, especially with so many other great places,” said general manager Claudia Bonforte. “Our entire crew and bar staff strive to make everyone feel like they are at home … well, because it’s our ‘home’ also. Working and adapting to the various phases of reopening since this time last year was challenging, and our staff has done an amazing job.”

“At one point we didn’t know when the actual bar would have some semblance of normalcy,” Bonforte added. “We missed ‘our people’ and doing what we do best, not just bartending, but developing an environment for everyone. Seeing faces return was like having a family reunion every few weeks. We’re so grateful for our regulars and new customers alike, and we couldn’t have made it through this year without everyone.”
