Gin Joint
The Gin Joint has been serving up craft cocktails on East Bay Street since 2010, and since taking over in 2017, owners/newlyweds James and Wells Bolt have kept the tradition alive.
“We’ve always made it our goal to create an environment as unique and inviting as our cocktails, and we can’t say thank you enough to the community who recognizes that in us,” Wells said. “We truly couldn’t have done it alone this past decade.”
The cocktail bar seats under 30 patrons indoors, meaning 2020 had the potential to be a devastating year. But, the Bolts were able to get creative with at-home cocktail kits, which arrive at customer’s doorstep stocked with everything needed to make a signature craft cocktail — minus the booze — from egg whites to house-made syrups or garnishes.
Since reopening its doors, Gin Joint has continued to be a place frequented by cocktail enthusiasts, and each trip to the East Bay Street destination feels familiar yet adventurous.
“Jamie and I are so proud to own this little cocktail bar that just won’t quit, even through the challenges it’s faced in the last decade,” Wells said. “What we do is only possible with our amazing staff and equally amazing guests. Before we closed our doors a little over a year ago, we told the Holy City we’d see them on the other side. Here we are, after months of darkness, and this win only adds more fuel to the fire to create the best cocktails this city has to offer.”
