What you need to know: Recent DHEC data shows that there’s what Medical University of South Carolina doctors are calling a “concerning rise” in the number of “multisystem inflammatory syndrome” (MIS-C) cases in children who have contracted COVID-19. According to the data, there have been a total of 110 cases of MIS-C in those who have contracted the virus. The doctors are encouraging parents to vaccinate their children when it becomes available to their age group. Source: WCSC

South Carolina health officials reported 285 total cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday (133 confirmed, 152 probable), with two confirmed deaths.

With 4,526 tests reported Wednesday, 4.4% were positive.
