Idlewild Revival, an Allman Brothers tribute band with an all-star lineup of Charleston-area musicians, will take the stage at Firefly Distillery Saturday, May 29 as part of the Safe Sounds at Firefly concert series.
The group consists of eight locals, each talented musicians in their own rights: bassist Wayne Mitchum, drummer JT Rollerson, drummer Wes Powers, keyboardist Bill Nance, vocalist Tim Kirkendall, guitarist Michael Davis, guitarist Rev. Dr. Johnny Mac, and Bobby Alvarez on percussion. The group has been playing the Allman Brothers tribute show together for the last four years at local spots like Charleston Music Hall, and Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina’s Party at the Point.
“If you’re an Allman Brothers fan, this is a must-see event,” said Davis, who’s owned and operated Hanahan’s Ye Olde Music shop for 32 years.
Concert-goers will also be able to enjoy tasty barbeque from Smokin’ Gringos food truck and purchase wine and beer.
Safe Sounds features familiar pod-style seating for the outdoor concert and ticket options are available from City Paper Tickets, which include $27.50 for general admission and $110 to purchase a pod for up to four people. Doors for the 21+ concert open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.
