Novavax says that the vaccine demonstrates 100% efficacy against COVID-19 and 93% against variants of the virus, though the vaccine may have to undergo the standard FDA approval rather than authorized emergency use, which would lengthen the process. South Carolina health officials reported 132 total cases of the coronavirus on Monday (92 confirmed, 40 probable), with two confirmed deaths.
With 6,205 tests reported Monday, 2.2% were positive.
