You can purchase tickets through Thursday for Bodega and Uptown Social’s special B.E.C. on Me event via EventBrite.

Each $15 ticket includes a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich for the ticket holder and a second sandwich to be donated to Charleston’s homeless shelter and homeless services provider One80 Place on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets can be purchased on or before Nov. 25, but sandwiches must be picked up 9 a.m.-2 p.m. from Uptown Social.

After the event, donated sandwiches will be delivered to One80 Place the same day.

One80 Place opened in 1984 with the mission of ending and preventing homelessness through services like shelter, housing, on-site clinic, legal services, a community kitchen and more.

In 2018, One80 Place decided to convert its former shelter location on upper Meeting Street into a six-story affordable housing complex with 70 units for individuals with a history of homelessness and 65 shelter beds for women and families.

Individuals looking for additional ways to give to One80 Place this holiday season can still participate in the shelter’s 9th Annual Turkey and a $20 fundraising drive through Tues., Nov. 23. Visit One80 Place’s website to contribute monetary donations online or drop off gifts including money, food and groceries (including turkey and ham) or story gift cards.

All proceeds raised through the fundraiser will be directly used to support the organization’s community kitchen, which doles out more than 100,000 meals per year.
