College of Charleston’s annual Cougar Night Lights holiday light display in the Cistern Yard will make its 2021 debut Dec. 2. The first public viewing show begins at 5:30 p.m. and will run every 30 minutes until 9 p.m.

Programs will continue to run 5:30-9 p.m. Dec. 2-Jan. 1, 2022 with the exception of Dec. 9 when a Yoga Under the Lights event will be held for CofC students. On Dec. 9, light programs will take place 6:30-9 p.m. instead.

John Reynolds designs Cougar Night Lights

A highly anticipated holiday event, Cougar Night Lights was designed by alumnus John Reynolds who has received multiple Emmy Awards as a lighting designer. Reynolds has also created displays for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Super Bowl.

The 30-minute programs will display spectacular lights set to favorite holiday tunes amongst the scenic live oaks and historic buildings in CofC’s Cistern Yard at the corner of George and St. Philip streets. The event is free is open to the public.
