Local singing duo Gracie and Lacy will celebrate the release of their new tune, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” with holiday shows at Forte Jazz Lounge  Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“We’re huge fans of the movie It’s a Wonderful Life,” Lacy Miller said. “We grew up watching that every Christmas morning as kids.”

In honor of the 75th anniversary of the film, Gracie & Lacy will debut their original song that references the film’s characters and envelopes themes from the movie, such as “every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings.”

“It’s a Wonderful Life” was recorded at Coast Records with producer Matt Zutell, and the instrumentation was produced by Ariel Delgado who is known for his work on The Voice and The Disney Channel. The sisters are also currently working on a string of original songs about Charleston for future release.

The performances Dec. 11 will feature classic holiday hits, tap dancing and the sisters’ signature harmonies, all backed by the Forte jazz band that consists of keyboardist Nolan Tecklenburg, upright bassist John F. Kennedy, drummer Paul Croy and saxophonist Jon Phillips.
